We are a group based at the University of Padova (DAFNAE) with a strong focus on applied ecology. Our overarching aim is to understand the impact of multiple human-induced pressures on biodiversity and ecosystem services and to provide management solutions to mitigate their negative effects. We address pressing environmental questions in both managed and natural ecosystems using plants and arthropods as model organisms. We work on three main research areas:
● Impact of land-use on biodiversity and ecosystem services
● Global change and species range shifts
● Landscape ecology and population dynamics of harmful species
We used multiple approaches including manipulative experiments, observational studies, and macro-ecological analyses studying population dynamics, diversity patterns, and ecological interactions in terrestrial ecosystems
